hi everyone,

i just got one quick release from tannhauser and i find it very good. the special thing about the boss kit is (other than the cheap price) is there is not additional catch to press when u engage or disengage the quick release boss kit. this makes it even easier to use and faster engagement. when i was using my previous D1 spec QR boss kit, i find that little button a pain, more so when u have your steering wheel in the sun and the boss kit is freaking hot. it's almost hand burning.

good stuff tannhauser. i highly recommend this to all bucket seat owners. it saves the side bolsters from getting worn by repeated entry and exit.

it's also good for drifting cuz it lifts the steering wheel away from your signal and wiper stalks (and prevents u from turning on your wiper when u r steering very quickly)

even if your car is stock and not drifting, a QR boss kit can be a safety device as in case of a frontal impact and the steering column get distorted and trap you in, a QR boss kit will allow u to free yourself in seconds (important when you car is on fire). In the case of a side impact and the driver side door is deformed and cannot open, a QR boss kit will let the driver escape from the vehicle FROM THE WINDOW very quickly. NASCAR and F1 drivers dun use the QR boss kit because it looks cool.

try to exit your car without opening the door. you can try to recline or move your seat back but studies have shown that the seat and the seat rail will absorb a certain amount of shock and deform in the event of an accident to protect it's occupants thus inevitably disabling the slide and recline function of a stock seat. even more possible it your recline and slide is electrical, the chances of failure in an accident is greater.

the only downside is the QR boss kit will not be able to work with airbags. If your car is without an airbag on the steering, i strongly suggest that u consider install a QR boss kit in your car.

Can I try before purchase? At the moment I find my car steer wheel alittle too close to me for liking.
So I would like to check if this hub will bring even closer to me.... btw still available or not?

This quick release will bring your wheel closer to you by 5cm. don't need to try. hehe

it's quite weird that you're already seated quite close. i think you need some assistance in seating positions, if you're not in the best position.

attend a meetup and then if you arrange with Tannhauser, maybe he can rock up with it then everyone can help you in your seating position!
