if u think COE is going down further then u can wait around, maybe it will.

ppl renew now cuz some feel that it is the lowest. e.g. if your car's COE is dude 2011 and u predict a upswing in the market that may push the PQP up, you can lock in now by renewing now. so your car would have 10 years from the date of renew, i.e. Oct 2008 expiring in Oct 2018

so $13,868 for 10 years....not bad leh.

actually, most of the S14 should be renewing about now. i have a friend selling his S14 with LOT's OF STUFF for about $35k. that is because if he scrap he can get his OMV back, which is about $27k i think. so that means he is just asking a few k for the body and the parts.

so if i take this 9.5 year old S14, i would be paying 35 x 13 = $48k to use for 10 years!

i.e,. depreciation 4800 a year , i.e. $400 a month! cool!

With regard to renewal, what is the limit number of times the car can be renewed? up to age of ...?

isn't it 30 years? then after that it becomes a ............ historic vehicle? lol

nope there is no limit as long as u renew 10 years each time.

in that case when does the vehicle turn to classic plate? or that is a opt for option.?

after 30 yrs u can convert to classic plate but the catch is u can only drive 28 days in a yr
